A Piece of Inspiration

Hari ini aku mendapat banyak wawasan baru setelah baca majalah Globe Asia ( biasanya yang baca buku ini my boyfriend). And i read a lot bout these people, orang2 terkaya di Indonesia, ada yang kaya karena memang keluarganya dari dulu rich and famous, dan ada juga yang mulai dengan merangkak dari bawah.

Ada dua tokoh yang sangat menarik perhatianku. Yang pertama adalah Edwin Soeryadjaya (58 years old). Dia adalah founder dari SARATOGA INVESTAMA. Why am I so inspired by this man? well, dia adalah anak dari founder ASTRA INTERNATIONAL, yang sempat ngalamin jatuh bangun saat dia harus menjual ASTRA karena kegagalan salah satu usaha milik keluarga (BANK SUMMA- in 1992)
dia sempat merasa kehilangan pegangan, sampai akhirnya dia mendirikan SARATOGA. And yes, his motto of success is 'being dependend to God'. Dalam sebuah artikel dia menulis bahwa semua kepemilikannya, kebanggaan dan kesuksesannya adalah 'present from God'. Dengan kepopuleran dan kesuksesan yang dia miliki, nggak pernah sekalipun aku nemuin di artikel dia menggembar gemborkan itu semua sebagai ' usaha keras saya', 'pengorbanan saya', 'kerja keras dan pengalaman saya' or whatsoever. Being a low profile, he simply put it as ' God's presents for me'. Dan kenapa akhirnya dia bisa bangkit dari masalahnya yang mungkin orang biasa sudah menganggap itu jalan buntu?
This brilliant man nggak mau hidup diperbudak dengan uang. Sehingga masalah 'uang' nggak akan mematahkan semangat juangnya.

The second man is Sandiaga Uno... also from SARATOGA juga..
He is only 38, co-founder of SARATOGA-partnernya Mr. Edwin, and he's very handsome and down to earth. A very successful person i know once comment on him, stating that this guy was just happened to be lucky and used to be nobody. Yah.. intinya, dia tuh ibarat Success by Lucky Accident.
I never believe in a thing called 'luck'. Yang ada, adalah 'chance'! And chance will come to every person, for as long as they are hardworking and eagerly looking for it. God is fair. Everyone who live their life running and chasing for their personal passion will someday find that door, and by that time he/she will have to make the biggest decision in their life-whether or not to open it. It won't be that easy. They have to overcome their fear- as if they failed the chance, semua mimpinya selama ini akan seperti debu yang akan hilang dan perjuangan mereka juga ngga meninggalkan jejak.
I think that it's more fair- to say that instead of just being lucky,
lebih adil kalo dibilang- he just happened to meet the chance, grabbed it, and succeed. Pasti keluarga Soeryadjaya ngga berpikir pendek dan asal pick some stranger untuk disekolahin and even made him a partner.
Terbukti kan dengan dia bisa nyandang Summa Cumlaude semasa kuliahnya, and he earned up to 1 billion on the age of 26!
Hmm... memang no ordinary young man... he used to play basket for Kobatama as well. Everything he has that narrow minded people refer as 'luck', well, i say, He DESERVES it!
Aku sendiri jauh dari sosok orang seperti itu. I'm so ordinary.. ya... dengan sedikit talent dan skill yang dimodali Tuhan untuk jadi sukses suatu saat nanti. But trully, these two men really inspired me.
and now we sit, reading about that profiles and go 'uh-oh', 'we'll never be like that'..... 'that only happen to one in a million'.... or ' I've never been that lucky'......
well, bukankah lebih penting, we stop envying people, but instead, terdorong untuk jadi lebih semangat?
if Uno can make it in such a young age, dan Mr. Edwin meraih semuanya itu di usianya yang ke 58- and not complain, why can't we?
Everything happens for a reason, God designed so well so u can reach the highest peak in your life.
Don't rush, don't be stressed. Do what you can do today, don't postpone, don't hold back-have faith, God's always there watching our back!

Pe, you have more than what anyone else got. I'm watching your steps, ready to catch you should you ever fall. I pray for you all the time. hehe- jadi tenang2 saja, jangan buru2.... pasti one day, all ur dreamz will come true!

Garden earring

My garden-themed ear rings used yellow-clay flower combined with different colorz of crystal.

It took quite sometime to finish this pair. I wanted to make it as sweet as can be, and it turned out just the way i expected.

I was thinking that someday i might try selling my jewelries, of course when i already have the time to fulfill al demand. hahah... it's not that easy to keep on producing, updating blog when you still work fulltime (specially as an auditor).
